The ASRC Board of Directors received numerous requests to develop an Alabama Vanity Plate for Respiratory Therapists.  In 2024, we moved forward with a design and application to the Alabama Department of Revenue.

In order for plate production to begin, we were required to place 250 pre-orders for the tag.  That means that we had to have a $50 deposit from 250 people to have the tag produced.  Our deadline for orders was January 14th, 2026.

The ASRC Board is disappointed to announce that we were not able to reach that goal.  This means that the tag is not approved and will not be available.  In order to have one approved, the application and approval process would have to be restarted.

We have contacted the  Alabama Department of Revenue to confirm the refund process for those that pre-registered.  We are now awaiting correspondence from them to have access to the final list of those that registered.  We have also asked for specific instructions on how those funds will be refunded.

Please understand that we are working to have this resolved as soon as possible, but we must wait on the process from the Alabama Department of Revenue.
